These are a new set of API's that allow browsers to behave/ interact with different tele-communications.
Tools mainly used by instructors for broadcasting their lectures are video streaming, a virtual whiteboard, and a chat system. On the other side, students will use only the live chat systems to communicate with their instructors, e.g. asking questions, showing their respond, and etc., and a virtual whiteboard to study the lectures. This technique is a trade-off between two-way and low bandwidth communications.
Before this technology, browsers were only compatible with text and images. Like for Java based, entire software needs to be downloaded. Similarly, BigBlueButton requires flash media player.
WEB-RTC VCR works on native browser technology to deliver the content. Student or teacher doesn’t need to download any software and can interact with audio, videos, text, images etc.
