At BlueApple we follow a methodical process with regular reviews and approvals to ensure all the objectives of an online initiative are met in their entirety. We maintain regular communication with our clients and stakeholders during this process to do this best.![]()
The first thing we provide is a production schedule with dates and milestones for the deliverables at each stage, while marking areas where we will need your approval.![]()
We then have a project kick-off meeting on the scheduled date. In this meeting, the key members of our team (a system analyst, project manager, project lead and the design lead along with marketing person responsible for your account) will interact with the team that will coordinate at your end. The objective in general is to introduce the personnel involved and to broadly understand everyone's roles in order to clarify the objectives of the project.![]()
We follow this up with planning at our end and an exhaustive documentation that includes the
HLD's (High Level Design Document), Site structure/Map, detailed feature list and information flow document which we will review with you and your team. Once all people involved reach common ground, we start designing as per preferences in the design SRS doc (completed by you) and supply design layout options for approvals.![]()
With the designs approved, we will make the complete site/application in html, and deploy it on a test server for review. This is the Design Prototype of the website. This design in HTML will be a prototype of the whole website. This will include all the functional pages of the user interface and the backend admin console. All the pages are hyperlinked and presented as they will appear on the final delivered version of the website/application.![]()
You will be able to click on the links on the pages and navigate through the site and get the firsthand feel of the data flow, usability; this will let you determine exactly how the site will look, feel and function once fully developed and delivered. You can actually review the site the way:![]()
At this stage, we will discuss and take you through the whole website design prototype, wherein you may add updates regarding anything that you or your team / consultants / stakeholders, think may be missing or if it is not what you had in mind. You may request any change at this stage. This is called a Design Prototype stage.
Once this stage is through, neither of us should have any gaps in our understanding of the overall solution. All requirements will be put on freeze from here on. Any request for change after this will be charged-for extra.
This process is very adaptable. It still accommodates the fact that there may be a few things that may be developed iteratively. So not taking change request means that we will not accommodate any major change (or many small changes) that may affect the production lifecycle to any significant level.
At this stage we will integrate the backend programming along with the required database structures. This will ensure that the site gets developed, the way it has been understood and planned, to function while the databases accommodate all the fields and parameters and are optimized according to the needs. Again, this stage of technology integration is followed as per the development schedule provided with time for feedbacks and approvals at the specified stages and will lead to the delivery of a beta version of the site with pre-defined levels of engagement from your end.
The enhancements along with testing, debugging, optimization, along with usability plus finally hosting & online testing will be done thereafter leading to the final delivery of the project.
This is a project development lifecycle standard that we have successfully followed for the past 7 years, with splendid results each time.
