It can record and playback sessions (slides, audio, and chat), runs on Mac, Unix, and PC computers, and is supported by a community of developers that care about good design and a streamlined user experience.
BigBlueButton is developed primarily for distance education.

Features of BigBlueButton:
User authentication- so each course can have its own private and secure room in the course. A recording feature, that allows online courses to be automatically recorded and posted. The instructor can speak to all students or set up a private chat with a particular student. By Audio/Video/Desktop sharing, the instructor can post a link to allow students to view BigBlueButton session if they were recorded.
We design plug-ins to integrate BigBlueButton into WordPress allowing bloggers to create and manage meeting rooms to interact with their readers. Our developers understand your projects and if you want to contribute or extend BigBlueButton, we’ve created overviews, installation videos, tutorials, and we use a public issue tracking system, and source code repository.
We have 4 years of extensive experience in BigBlueButton.
